BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Starting Monday, the Erie County Department of Health will expand the hours of its COVID-19 Information Line.

Erie County has seen a rise in COVID-19 infections in recent weeks; part of the county has been placed under yellow zone cluster restrictions.

The hotline's hours are expanding to 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays, and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on weekends. The Department of Health has trained more staffers to work the hotline because of a "sharp increase" in calls in the past few weeks. Since its inception last spring, the COVID-19 Information Line has taken almost 125,000 calls.

Anyone needing information on COVID-19, including testing information, can call (716) 858-2929 during the expanded hours to ask questions.
