ERIE COUNTY (WKBW) — Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz announced Saturday the Erie County Department of Health shut down two bars for violating the governor's order.
Poloncarz said Friday night when he was announcing the six death from COVID-19 in Erie County, the health department was out closing two bars that opened in violation of the governor's order.
ECDOH announced Saturday the two locations that received Commissioner Close Orders were AJ’s Clarence Hollow at 10250 Main Street in Clarence and Swannie House at 170 Ohio Street in Buffalo.
Last night, @ECDOH and @ECSONY1 shut down two (2) bars/restaurants that were open for business: AJ's Clarence Hollow in Clarence and the Swannie House in Buffalo. Both cases will be referred to @NY_SLA for action.

“Bar and restaurant owners have to take this new reality seriously,” said Poloncarz. “These regulations are in place for a deadly serious reason, and bars and restaurants that are open in violation of the law are putting their customers and their employees at risk. This is unacceptable and we will shut you down.”
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced as of March 22, 100 percent of the non-essential workforce should stay home.
Restaurants/bars are considered essential, so they can stay open but only for take-out/delivery.
