JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WKBW) — Jamestown Police Department is taking extra precautions when dealing with service calls amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Residents who call the dispatch line will now be asked a series of health related questions to determine if an on-site officer is needed. All non-emergency calls will be dealt with over the phone.
If an officer is needed on site, he or she be following social distancing rules. In a statement, Jamestown Police asks residents to call before heading to the department for assistance.
