LANCASTER, N.Y. (WKBW) — In a year that has seen many local parades, festivals and traditions canceled, Western New York is losing another family favorite, the Lancaster Christmasville Firetruck Parade.
The parade, which would've celebrated its 13th year in 2020, has been called off by the Greater Lancaster Museum of Firefighting due to COVID-19 restrictions.
The museum said in a post on Facebook that it plans to come back next year, with the parade already scheduled for November 27, 2021.
The parade started more than a decade ago with 19 trucks. Now, fire departments from all over Western New York and beyond participate. Last year, more than 200 trucks participated.
7 Eyewitness News was proud to stream the parade live last year, and we plan to again next year. You can relive last year's parade here.
