BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) — The holiday travel rush seems to be starting, despite warnings not to fly because of the pandemic.
According to the the TSA, more than one million people were screened on both Friday and Saturday.
That's the first time since the pandemic began that more than a million people were screened on consecutive days.
The numbers hint at an early rush for holiday air travel, something the CDC warned against the week prior to Thanksgiving.
On November 29, the Sunday after Thanksgiving, nearly 1.2 million people flew, which is an air travel record of the pandemic that still stands.
