BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — "Operation Thanks From Above” flew over key hospitals, Veterans Affairs locations, city centers, parks and other notable venues in the Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse areas Saturday as a tribute to essential workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Conducted by the National Warplane Museum, the flyover included "Whiskey 7" a Douglas C-47 WWII airplane, and "Mad Max" a P-51 Mustang.
Seventeen air crew members took part in the tribute.
“This mission is one of many that are taking place across the country and we are honored to be a part of showing our gratitude and support for those on the front lines,” said Todd Cameron, Director of Flight Operations at the NWM.
