CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WKBW) — A photo sent to 7 Eyewitness News by a viewer is now being looked into by Erie County.
The image, taken today, shows a crowd of at least a dozen people in the Walden Galleria food court in Cheektowaga. Some have wrappers on their tables and appear to be eating.
Cheektowaga is part of the Erie County cluster that is currently under Orange Zone restrictions, meaning indoor dining is not allowed.
7 Eyewitness News reached out to Erie County to ask why the food court was allowed to be open despite the restrictions. A spokesperson for the county reiterated that indoor dining is not allowed in Orange Zones, and added that the picture had been shared with the Erie County Division of Environmental Health for review.
