BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Four local hospitals, hit hardest by the COVID-19 crisis are going to split just over $65 million in federal money.

South Buffalo Congressman Brian Higgins made that announcement Sunday.

Higgins says the money is specifically directed to the hospitals that served the highest number of patients in the early stages of the pandemic.

Here's a breakdown of what those four local hospitals will get.

Mercy Hospital in Buffalo will get just over $11 million.

Millard Fillmore Suburban will get $14.8 million.

Buffalo General Medical Center gets $15.5 million, and $24 million for Sisters Hospital.

This money is from the CARES Act approved by Congress in late March.

More federal money for local hospitals is expected in the future as well.
