Crews fight fire in Buffalo in bitter cold

Buffalo firefighters worked to knock down a 3-alarm fire in the 500 block of Tonawanda Street around 8 p.m. in dangerously cold temperatures.

Fire officials say the fire started at a large store front and then spread to the two buildings on either side.

More than 70 firefighters were on the scene.

According to police, two adults and three children were displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross. There are no reports of injuries.

The cause remains under investigation.
