Darien Lake theme park has new owners, but business leaders say it's business as usual.
EPR Properties has agreed to buy the Western New York Theme Park, as well as 19 other attractions from former owners CNL Lifestyle.
The total investment for all 20 attractions is $800 million dollars.
The park has made several upgrades in recent years, including the launch of a new water slide this past summer. Darien Lake is also a popular location for summer concerts, hosting big acts like the Zac Brown Band this past summer.
In a statement released by Darien Lake Chris Thorpe, Darien Lake General Manager says “We look forward to supporting the efforts of both CNL Lifestyle Properties and EPR Properties as they advance the sale process, and we remain focused on continuing to grow Darien Lake’s position as a place families love to visit and vacation."
Although the new owners have remained pretty tight lipped about the acquisition, the release from the park stressed that there will be no changes in park staff or operations.
