A determined crowd of demonstrators gathered in Depew Tuesday evening to protest the proposal to dissolve the village into Lancaster and Cheektowaga.
"I don't believe we're going to get the same level of service that we currently enjoy," resident William Curr said.
Service seemed to be the main sticking point for protesters at Transit Road and Broadway.
"We would be, kind of, one in a very large pond -- a small fish in a large pond," Curr said.
Supporters of dissolution say it will cut taxes.
However, taxpayer Dave Anderson doesn't buy it.
"If you truly believe that you're going to have a significant savings and maintain the level of services you're used to, I have a bridge I'll sell you with some ocean front property in Arizona."
A vote on dissolution is set to take place January 17th.
