Just weeks after receiving a surprising and inspirational video from Donnie Wahlberg, a Lancaster woman got to meet him at a New Kids on the Block concert in Pittsburgh.
Janice Sally Czosek Hetrick, along with her daughter and a friend, were invited by Wahlberg to the show after she was unable to attend the concert in Buffalo due to being in the hospital, getting breast cancer treatment.
Janice says they were treated to pit passes, front row seats and backstage passes at the show.
During the concert, Janice says Donnie would acknowledge her, even hugging her and telling her how proud he was of her fight against cancer.
The excitement didn't end after the show. Janice says the two sat side-by-side and talked. She gave him a scrapbook of all her events she completed with her Donnie doll.
She also gave him a breast cancer cape.
Janice says all she ever wanted was a card, but got so much more.
After their meeting, she describes Donnie as the most sincere, authentic, generous and compassionate man that she has ever met.
"I am forever grateful for the time I was able to spend with him... I cannot thank Grace enough for making this special event happen! I hope I can inspire other breast cancer fighters to continue their life dreams and to never give up," said Janice.
