Two people are facing drug charges after Erie County Sheriff's deputies say they crashed their car into a utility pole, and had drugs on them.

Deputies responded to the crash on Crittenden Road in the Town of Newstead around 11:20 p.m. on July 5th.  They say Alisha Mehl drove her car off the road, crashing into the pole.  Police say the 22-year-old had three suspensions on her license, as well as an outstanding warrant for assault from Depew.

Police also say Mehl and her passenger, 26-year-old Seth Esskuchen, had heroin and marijuana in the car. Mehl was taken to ECMC to be treated for life-threatening injuries.  Both were charged with possession, and Mehl is facing additional charges.
