Early voting ends, breaking records

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Early voting is now over in New York State. Polls in Erie County closed at 6pm on Sunday. The final numbers from Erie County early voting:

16,513 cast their ballot on Sunday.

167,938 cast their ballot in during the nine day early voting period. That’s 26.6% of the registered voters in the county.

This is only the second time New York has implemented early voting. This election (2020) surpassed the number of people who voted in last year’s (2019) election by over 140,000 votes.

There will be no early voting on Monday.

Polls open on Election Day, in Erie County, from 6am-9pm.
