Erie County Water Authority: Southtowns residents should conserve water

UPDATE: Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz says the Erie County Water Authority has determined where the break happened, pressure should be restored soon.

ORIGINAL: The Erie County Water Authority has reported a break in a transmission main at the Sturgeon Point Treatment Plant in the Town of Evans.

1/2: I have been advised by @ECWAuthority of a major water main break of a large line that starts at the Sturgeon Point facility in Evans and feeds many smaller lines in central Erie Co. The ECWA says this will have an impact on the Southtowns, asking residents there to voluntarily conserve water.

ECWA authorities are currently assessing the problem and shutting it down.
