Temperatures in the City of Buffalo were in single digits the entire day on Friday, but felt even colder. That would typically mean staying inside by a warm fire only to go outside if its absolutely necessary. Don't tell that to the brave souls at the Rotary Rink at Fountain Plaza who were dealing with the cold for some winter fun.
"I feel alright. A little cold but warming up from ice skating" Nathan Jaynes, a skater at the rink, said.
The rink was noticeably empty with only a handful of people skating.
Due to low temperatures the rink at Canalside decided to close on Friday and Saturday. They will reopen on Sunday at 10 am with free admission.
