Buffalo Public Schools giving employees 'Thanksgiving Eve' off as a thank you

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Buffalo Public Schools announced that employees will be given the day off on Wednesday, November 25th as a special thank you for their hard work since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a statement, Buffalo Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Kriner Cash said the following

We have been thinking about you. We can feel all that you and your families have been going through over the past eight long and difficult months. Therefore, this gesture of our appreciation will give you and your families a chance to rest, reflect, and restore. We wish you faith, grace, and kindness for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.

The district also announced that food distribution sites will be open on Friday, along with Monday the 23rd and Tuesday the 24th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to help feed Buffalo families during the Thanksgiving break.
