BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — It's Christmas in July for the Frontier Central School District. In the next few weeks-- 1100 Chromebook computers will be delivered to the district offices.
All third through fifth grade students will have their own computers for when they are at school.
"To help them engage in learning and to also provide such great feedback to teachers right away," Frontier Central School District Superintendent Richard Hughes said.
Hughes says students will tap into a cloud program where teachers will be able to give them direct feedback and monitor their progress.
"Technology in the hands of a great teacher unlocks even more possibilities," Hughes added.
Students will use the popular Google Productivity Apps like Google docs, sheets, and slides.
Hughes says administrators, the town and students are working to get devices at the High School for next year. Hughes says they are discussing the best possible devices whether that's iPads, tablets, or Chromebooks.
