SALAMANCA, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Salamanca City Central School District has shut down Prospect Elementary School due to a gas leak, Thursday morning.
The district says the gas leak was the result of rail car accident that occurred near the school.
The school has been evacuated and buses have transported students to Salamanca Senior High School, in order to be picked up at the auditorium.
The school says this is a precautionary measure, and all students and faculty are safe.
