BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Bill and Melinda Gate’s foundation is giving Buffalo-area educators a boost in getting and keeping more students in college.

A $2.9 million dollar grant will be a 22 month investment from the foundation.

It is going to be split 7 ways into the newly created “Buffalo College Success Network”

Members are Say Yes Buffalo, Buffalo Public Schools, Medaille College, SUNY Erie, The University at Buffalo, Villa Maria College, and Buffalo State College.

There are three goals: increase the persistence of students who access the success network’s services, get more students to enroll in college, and create a data system that will allow the public school system and the higher education institutions to collaborate about student information.
