Family to climb Mt. Everest to honor loved one

Posted

A father/son duo is embarking on a special journey, all in the name of love and awareness.

Starting October 10th, the two will spend two weeks climbing Everest Base Camp in Nepal. TJ and Torey Hirsch are on a mission, in memory of their beloved sister and daughter Jacquie Hirsch.

In 2008, Jacquie lost her battle with acute lymphocytic leukemia, a fast growing cancer of the blood and bone marrow. She was only 23. Since then, her family has been working to preserve her unwavering spirit, and the climb is one of those ways.

The Jacquie Hirsch for A.L.L. Foundation helps people going through cancer and leukemia treatment by providing patient support, awareness and research.

The foundation has raised more than 1.6 million dollars since its inception in 2008.
