Buffalo firefighters responded to an apartment fire, inside a building on Oakmont Avenue.
Firefighters were called around 3:30 a.m. Thursday.
Fire was contained to a single apartment, although it seems some residents inside evacuated when alarms started ringing.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Firefighters say there were people living inside the affected apartment, but they were not home.
Crews say fire caused about $40,000.
