The new plan for One Seneca Tower has been unveiled and here is a first look. The renderings below were part of a presentation tonight made by Douglas Jemal, the founder and CEO of Douglas Development.
Jemal tells 7 Eyewitness News Anchor Jeff Russo that the plan "brings the building to the street. It makes it pedestrian friendly. Right now it is a cold tower with a large courtyard and a lot of wind. I think they will love it".
The new name of the tower will be "Seneca One"
Among the highlights of the renderings is the addition of a large retail component to the lower floors building. Jemal says the project will turn Buffalo's tallest building into a mixed use space which will include offices, a hotel and residential and retail components.
The completed project could bring over a thousand plus jobs to downtown Buffalo. Work is expected to begin sometime in the next couple of months.
