Former Buffalo police officer Robert Eloff has been released from prison in West Virginia after serving time for arresting a man under false pretenses.
Eloff was sentenced to three months in federal prison and three months of home confinement last year in connection to the investigation into an incident at the now-closed Molly's Pub in Buffalo. Back in 2014, Bill Sager was gravely hurt when he was pushed down a flight of stairs by Jeffrey Basil. Eloff pleaded guilty to violating Donald Hall's civil rights that night. He resigned from the force as part of the plea.
Basil pleaded guilty to first degree manslaughter and was sentenced to 18 years in prison.
