A Gainesville man, already a convicted sex offender, has been charged with contacting a 16-year-old through social media and engaging in a sexual act with the minor.
According to police, 39-year-old Eric E. Hartman talked to and visited a male minor in the Village of Perry out in Wyoming County in late April.
Hartman is being charged with third degree criminal sexual act and endangering the welfare of a child. The Level 2 sex offender was arraigned in the village of Warsaw Court and then sent to Wyoming County Jail on no bail.
Hartman is due back in the Village of Perry Court in June.
