A Buffalo resident has left a $2.3 million gift to Kenmore Mercy Hospital.
John M. Repetski left the bequest to the hospital when he passed away. It’s the largest gift from an individual donor in the hospital’s 65-year history.
Repetski grew up in Buffalo’s Riverside neighborhood and served in the Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean War. Afterwards, he spent 34 years working at General Motors.
He had a more than five-year relationship with the staff at the Kenmore Mercy Foundation, forged on his deep Catholic faith, before his passing on January 15, 2015.
The foundation plans to use Repetski’s gift to continue to grow and develop the hospital’s key priorities.
