The Buffalo & Erie County Workforce Investment Board (BECWIB) announced an upcoming training for Spanish-speaking individuals interested in a career in advanced manufacturing Monday.
The Certified Production Technician (CPT) Spanish Program focuses on safety, manufacturing processes and production, quality practices and measurement, and maintenance awareness.
The program provides students with and understanding of skills needed to obtain employment as an entry-level CPT.
Students that complete the training will earn the National Manufacturing Skills Standards Council Credential, National Work readiness credential and OSHA 10 for General Industry.
“Strong partnerships make this innovative training possible by helping our Spanish speaking workers find jobs they might not otherwise be aware of, or have the necessary training for,” said BECWIB Executive Director Heather Gresham. “This paid training program provides a ground breaking opportunity for the Spanish speaking community to gain in-demand occupational skills, while being exposed to the real-life work environments of our business partners. In addition, this training experience is FREE to qualified candidates and we encourage all interested Spanish-speaking applicants to apply.”
