Nicole Beringer doesn't have a lot of down time these days.
“We are moving and shaking at all the hours of the day,” she explained.
The 35-year-old from Buffalo is busy running U.S. Traffic Control. She founded the company in 2012. It does a lot in the way of emergency road conditions. But, a bulk of the business is manufacturing, renting and selling traffic signs for road construction sites.
Chances are you have probably driven by a USTC sign and not known it. Take the Skyway construction for example, all of the signs, cones, even the barricades were provided by Beringer’s company. “On these heavy highway contracts, whether it's repairing a bridge, cleaning a culvert, or repaving the thruway, safety is required,” she said.
Beringer currently has 26 employees. She's looking to hire more. “I'm growing and hiring as fast as I can. I need sign shop people, flaggers, and traffic technicians.”
