Jim Defilippis is vice president and general manager for the convenience store chain. He said they have about 35 openings ranging from cashiers to food servers. Openings are available across the 39 locations from Buffalo to Rochester.

Reporter Ali Touhey: What qualities do you look for in a candidate?

Defilippis: What's most important is their personality. We hire smiles first, and that's really critical to us because we can't teach them how to smile.

Employees get free drinks during their shift. NOCO also offers meal discounts. NOCO also offers a competitive benefits package and a 401K.

Positions start at $10.40 an hour.
