Theresa Horab's a registered nurse by trade.
But, you won't find much in the way of conventional medicine inside Mind and Body Family Health Center in Amherst. She offers treatments like neurofeedback therapy and laser lipolysis.
“Our patient comes here because they want to feel better. they have hope,” Horab said.
Her business was born from personal experience. “I was looking for a treatment for my son. He had severe OCD. He tried everything, and nothing seemed to really help him. “
Laser lipo runs about $400 for six treatments. Neurofeedback is $150 per appointment. Neither are covered by insurance. Horab's hoping that changes soon. Until then, she offers packages, and other incentives to help make them more affordable for her patients.
