There isn't much Marcia Brogan doesn't know about the insurance business.
"I went into insurance about 38 years ago,” she explained.
We caught up with Brogan in her office inside Niagara National in Cheektowaga. She had awards for various achievements hanging on the walls.
Brogan’s her own boss.
She said it’s one reason why she got into selling insurance in the first place. “I wanted to make my own hours. I wanted to raise a family. Being a business owner allows me to do all that.”
Brogan said her line of work isn't always easy especially for women. “If people see me, they think I'm in real estate because insurance is mostly men.” It's something she's had to overcome over the years. But, she said it's worth it. “People don't understand insurance. It's intimidating. I can help them understand it and make sure they're protected. Taking care of people is what's important to me.”
