The historic lantern taken from the Erie County fairgrounds after Thursday's tornado has been returned. Fairground employees say a man from Blasdell returned the lantern. He didn't give his name, but they thank him for returning the piece of history.
Earlier Friday, Erie County Fair employees posted on Facebook asking for help finding the historic lantern.
They say someone in a pickup truck drove away with the lantern that sat on top of the McKinley Parkway Gate following the tornado. The lantern was torn off of the gate and was sitting on the ground when crews say it was taken.
