A school teacher was killed in the Nunda hot air balloon accident, according to our sister station 13 WHAM ABC.
State Police say around 9pm Friday, a balloon from "Balloons Over Letchworth" landed in a field in Nunda near Picket Line Road. All the passengers disembarked as four crew members held the balloon down.
Ryan Almeter, 34, was helping to restrain the basket when wind caused the balloon to fly off. Police say Almeter was lifted about 100 feet off the ground before falling to his death.
The balloon then landed in a nearby field.
