Three Buffalo police involved shootings since July

and last updated

There is no known video of Wednesday's Buffalo police involved shooting on Gladstone Street.

This shooting, however, is the third Buffalo police involved shooting this year.

In September, Rafael Rivera was shot and killed by a Buffalo police officer on the city's West Side.

Charges were never filed against the officer involved, because the Erie County DA said it was a justified shooting.

Over the summer, in July, an officer opened fire during a hostage situation.  That was in South Buffalo, on McKinley Parkway, near Como Avenue.

Last year, Jose Hernandez Rossy was shot and killed by a Buffalo police officer in the city's Riverside neighborhood.  That was on Garfield Street.  His death was ruled a homicide.

The two officers involved in that shooting were never charged.

In Chautauqua County, there is an active investigation underway, after a Fredonia police officer shot and killed a man, who they say had a knife.

Police still have not identified the suspect nor the officer involved.

The Attorney General's office is part of this investigation.
