Nothing says winter like cold, snow...and ice.
With winter just around the corner, 26.4 tons of competition quality ice will be delivered to the Fairgrounds in Hamburg for the 2nd Annual Great Lakes International Ice Carving Competition.
Professional ice carving teams from around the world will compete to display their ice carving talents. Each team will be given thirty-two hours and 4,800 pounds of ice to create their designs.
The sculptures will remain onsite in a chilled indoor space for the public to see throughout the run of the Fairgrounds Festival of Lights. The public can see the carvings beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday, November 25 through 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 26.
Awards will be handed out at 8 p.m. on Sunday, November 26.
The Fairgrounds Festival of Lights begins the weekend of Friday, November 25 and continues December 2-4, 9-11, and 16-23 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
