Michael Caputo, fresh off a plane from Washington where he was meeting with Republican and White House staffers, says the op-ed in the New York Times caused panic within the nation's capital. He said it was like time stood still for 90 minutes.
Caputo said this is something that's never before happened in our nation's history.
He went as far as to call the writer a coward and said this person should have resigned and then spoken about their experience.
"It takes a certain amount of arrogance to write that op-ed...as if she's carrying a shield for the Americans," Caputo said.
Caputo believes the writer is a woman among the senior staffers, but says he has no proof. He said he does not believe it's Kellyanne Conway, Melania Trump or even the President's daughter, Ivanka.
Caputo said he believes the person who wrote this op-ed has not received any negative press in the past and has been leaking for 18 months.
Caputo said he has not had any communication with President Trump since the inauguration. It's important to note he's been called as a witness in Special Council Robert Muller's Russia investigation.
Caputio, the former campaign staffer, said he believes this is all part of a larger conspiracy to get the President impeached. He said the President should go after the person who wrote the op-ed.
