Next week hundreds of people will gather to help fight ALS and while former WKBW-TV anchorman Irv Weinstein won't be there in person, he will definitely be there in spirit.
Weinstein and his family are donating $25,000 as the MDA Harvest of Hope event aims to raise as much money as it can to help find a cure for ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.
MDA covers 43 different diseases including ALS, all of which are muscle debilitating afflictions that take away the ability of a person to walk and talk, but ALS does not impact a patients mind.
Next weeks event is set for Thursday October 26th at Salvatore's Italian Gardens and will be hosted by current WKBW-TV anchorman Keith Radford. Tickets are still available at the MDA website, "www2.MDA.org/harvestofhope"
