7 Eyewitness News spoke with a local aviation expert about local airspace and next steps in the investigation, following a deadly plane crash in North Collins.
Kevin Balys owns KGB Aviation Solutions in West Seneca.
He says when many private, smaller planes are up in the air, it is up to the pilot to be responsible for airspace and visibility. Balys says the pilots do not communicate with a tower, as they do from the Buffalo Niagara International Airport.
Balys also says smaller planes do not have flight data recorders, making it difficult to determine what happened in the air.
