BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — According to the Long Term Care Community Coalition (LTCC), half of all seniors will need nursing home care at some point in their lives. To help the public "gain insights into the quality and safety of facilities in their communities" the LTCC has published data on the most poorly rated nursing homes across the country, 16 of which are located in western New York.
The nursing homes are rated on a scale of one to five stars, with one-star the lowest possible rating. The rating is based on staffing levels, health inspection outcomes and a range of quality measures and is based on data from Nursing Home Compare in August 2019.
The 16 facilities in western New York on the list are as follows:
