21-year-old dead, two others injured in shooting at Club Marcella

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Buffalo Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred just after 2:30 a.m. Sunday at Club Marcella on Michigan Avenue.

According to police, three people were shot during an argument inside the club.

Police say a 21-year-old Buffalo man was pronounced dead at the scene. The other two victims were reportedly taken to local hospitals and are described as stable.

The shooting happened during what was advertised on social media as a Valentine's Day celebration.

This is the second shooting at Club Marcella in less than a month. On January 29, a security guard was shot in the parking lot.

Fillmore District Council Member Mitch Nowakowski released the following statement Sunday morning:

“I am deeply saddened by the tragic act of violence that took place at Club Marcella early Sunday morning resulting in the loss of life. I will continue to work with our local authorities, city officials and community stakeholders to ensure safety in the cobblestone district. Violence has no place in our community and I continue to remain in constant and open communication with Buffalo Police and the owners of Marcella’s as the investigation proceeds.”

Club Marcella released the following statement to 7 News Sunday afternoon:

“We are devastated by the horrendous act of violence that occurred last night. We pray for the victim and his family, as well as anyone else impacted by this tragedy. Of course, we are cooperating fully with the police and will continue to do so in every way possible."
