Buffalo man arraigned on manslaughter for fatal stabbing on Riley Street

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Erie County District Attorney's Office announced 45-year-old Otis L. Johnson of Buffalo was arraigned Tuesday morning in Buffalo City Court on one count of first-degree manslaughter.

According to police, Johnson allegedly stabbed his girlfriend 56-year-old Katherine Crofton multiple times during a fight Monday on the 300 block of Riley Street. Police found Crofton at the scene with multiple stab wounds. She was taken to ECMC where she later died.

Johnson faces a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison when he returns December 27, 2022. He continues to be held without bail.
