AKRON, N.Y. — Main Street in Akron doesn't look the same. The filming of a Quiet Place 2 has given it a new face.

Robin Abholtz is a second generation Main Street business owner. She said she hasn't seen anything like this before.

"The whole area has changed. There's new facades on the buildings," Abholtz, the owner of Akron's House of Spirits, said.

Charles George also owns a business on Main Street, the Akron Pharmacy.

"It doesn't look like the old village. They put up different store fronts and new awnings and stuff like that," George said.

The latest update has been that Main Street from Buffalo Street to Church Street will be closed from July 15th to July 25th. The production crew and actors will be filming. Both Akron Pharmacy and Akron's House of Spirits will be open.

While the set of the film has brought in new people, George said he's been seeing less.

"The customer count is down because parking is limited here, and we get a large walk in crowd. With Main Street being shut down basically for those two months, you see less people coming in," George said.

On the other hand, Abholtz said business for her has been up.

"I think the pros definetly outweigh the cons. I think it's a great opportunity. It's already brought in more revenue," Abholtz said.

People who live and work in the area will be able to get to and from the area with a pass. Visitors looking to stop in stores will be escorted to the businesses during filming breaks.
