BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Agnes, the 24-year-old giraffe who called the Buffalo Zoo home her entire life, has died.
Agnes passed away this morning, two days after the zoo announced she was receiving end-of-life care. Agnes was suffering from advanced arthritis and other health issues that were not responding to treatment.
The giraffe exhibit will be closed today. It is expected to reopen to the public tomorrow.
Agnes was born on August 8, 1994. She has given birth to a number of offspring, including Zuri, who still remains at the zoo.
