Amherst police investigating crash in the area of Sheridan Drive and Jordan Road

AMHERST, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Amherst Police Department is investigating a crash in the area of Sheridan Drive and Jordan Road on Thursday morning.

Police said three vehicles were involved in the crash — a United States Postal Service vehicle, a Ryder truck and a Mazda minivan.

According to police, the USPS vehicle was traveling west on Sheridan when it moved into the east lane and collided with the Ryder truck. The collision caused the Ryder truck to spin into the west lane and collide with the Mazda.

The driver of the USPS vehicle sustained minor injuries, the driver of the Ryder truck sustained serious injuries and the passengers in the Ryder truck sustained minor injuries. They were all transported to ECMC. The occupants of the Mazda sustained minor injuries and were not transported by EMS personnel.

No charges have been filed at this time.

A portion of the road was closed and reopened just before 2 p.m. on Thursday.
