TOWN OF PEMBROKE, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Genesee County Sheriff's Office says an arrest has been made in a motorcycle hit-and-run in Pembroke Friday.
The sheriff's office says 26-year-old Travis R. Hartloff of Attica was traveling south on State Route 77 around 9 p.m. Friday when he struck the Honda SUV in front of him as the SUV was making a right hand turn.
The collision threw Hartloff off his motorcycle and into the middle of the road, the sheriff's office says Hartloff was then struck by a vehicle believed to be a Hyundai sedan. The Hyundai then allegedly fled the scene before deputies arrived.
Hartloff was seriously injured and transported to ECMC via Mercy Flight where he remains in critical condition. The occupants of the Honda SUV were not injured.
The sheriff's office says 21-year-old Alexander Wuerch of Alden voluntarily turned himself in to authorities Thursday and identified himself as the driver of the Hyundai that allegedly left the scene of the crash.
Wuerch was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a serious physical injury accident, he was issued an appearance ticket and is due back in court September 9.
The crash remains under investigation.
