Batavia Downs selects six health care workers to receive Bills playoff tickets

BATAVIA, N.Y. (WKBW) — After previously accepting nominations of frontline and health care workers to receive tickets to the Buffalo Bills playoff game, Batavia Downs has announced the winners.

Batavia Downs said hundreds of entries were received and six persons were chosen as winners.

“First, we want to thank to all the wonderful people who emailed us to nominate someone that they felt deserved the tickets to next weekend’s playoff game,” said President and CEO of Batavia Downs Gaming, Henry Wojtaszek. “The stories sent to us were incredible. There are so many heroes out there working hard for our communities.”

The winners are Kaitlin from ECMC, Dan from Rochester General, Stephen from the Buffalo Medical Group, Melinda from Rochester Regional Health, Paula from Buffalo General and Cortney from ECMC.

“We’re so excited to welcome these folks into our suite for the game,” said Ryan Hasenauer, Director of Marketing for Batavia Downs. “Their stories were truly inspiring and we are grateful to be able to extend this offer to these worthy recipients.

“I was so excited to receive the phone call-still in shock I get to go! So thankful for Batavia Downs to recognize health care workers and thankful to represent ECMC, “said ticket recipient Kaitlin.
