LACKAWANNA, N.Y. (WKBW) — A local manufacturer is getting ready to call the former Bethlehem Steel site home.

TMP Technologies has signed a letter of intent to purchase property at the site on Route 5 in Lackawanna. The manufacturing company intends to buy two pieces of property on the site for just over $1 million from the Erie County Industrial Land Development Corporation (ILDC).

The agreement will keep nearly 100 workers on the job in Erie County and will add an estimated 30 additional jobs.

“Negotiations for this expansion have been ongoing for several months, a Letter of Intent has been signed, and today TMP took another major step forward by submitting an initial site plan to the Lackawanna Planning Board for consideration,” said Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz.

The ILDC Board of Directors is expected to vote on the sale later this summer.

TMP Technologies currently manufactures cleaning products in Buffalo.
