BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) — The Blue Pumpkin Drive is back.
It raises money for the Buffalo Police K9 Unit, and honors Lieutenant Craig Lehner, who died during a training exercise in the Niagara River back in 2017.
His friends buy and paint pumpkins with the help of their neighbors.
You then place the blue pumpkin on your porch as a sign of support for local law enforcement.
Organizer and event founder Allison Milligan says, "This year we are following all COVID guidelines. We are social distancing and we require masks. We have hand sanitizer, and we're disinfecting
periodically throughout the day."
You can pick up a blue pumpkin once again Sunday on West Woodside Avenue in Buffalo from 9am until 9pm.
