FREDONIA, N.Y. (WKBW) — A boil water advisory is in effect until further notice in the Village of Fredonia.

The Chautauqua County Health Department says routine monitoring showed turbidity levels of 1.1 units yesterday, which is above the maximum allowable standard of 1.0 units.

All residents are urged to bring all water to a boil, allow it to boil for one minute, and let it cool before using.

Maintenance work on direct filtration units at the Fredonia Water Treatment Plant, scheduled to take place this past spring, is on hold in part due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Some improvements to the system are expected to take place next week.
