ERIE COUNTY (WKBW) — Following a water main break, a boil water notice was issued for parts of Hamburg and Orchard Park.

The Erie County Water Authority says there was a water main break between South Park Avenue and Clark Street south of the Erie County Fair Grounds in Hamburg Saturday.

Due to the water main break a boil water notice was issued for the following areas in Hamburg and Orchard Park:

  • To the North by Armor Duells Rd
  • To the South by Shamrock Ct./South Abbott Rd
  • To the West by Oakridge Dr.
  • To the East by Intersection of Armor Duells Rd & Powers Rd

Officials say the boil water notice has been lifted as of Monday afternoon and release the following statement:

“ECWA has lifted the boil water advisory for the customers in the isolated areas of Hamburg and Orchard Park impacted by the January 23 water main break. The required ban was lifted after ECWA completed a full water quality sampling and testing plan and found no issues. Two rounds of sampling and testing were performed within the impacted area and results of the analysis show that ECWA drinking water meets all regulatory standards for safety and quality. ECWA drinking water in the impacted areas is fully safe to consume and use. If customers have any questions or would like further information, they may contact ECWA at (716) 684-0900.”
